Welcome to My First Web Page

About Me and My Goals

My name is Andres Leon and this is my first web page created for my Web Development class. I am currently in my first semester of the Computer Programming & Analysis program at SCF. Although I am just beginning this academic journey, I already recognize the importance of gaining a solid understanding of how websites work and how they are developed.
I believe this knowledge will be essential for my professional growth, as web development is a key skill within the broader field of programming and technology.

This project represents my first hands-on experience in creating a website, making it a significant starting point in my academic training. My goal is to use this site as a learning tool, gradually incorporating the concepts, techniques, and best practices I acquire throughout the course. As I progress in my studies, I plan to update and improve the site—not only to reinforce what I've learned but also to document my development as a programmer.

In summary, I hope this website will serve not only as academic practice, but also as a tangible reflection of my growth and dedication to the field.

Platinum Games

Platinuming games can be seen as a hobby that consists of achieving 100% completion in a game. How is this done? By obtaining all trophies, finishing the story, and collecting all collectibles in most cases. It is a great way to spend time, as you can do it alone or with friends to make the process easier and more enjoyable. Sometimes, platining a game can become tedious and frustrating, but when you succeed, you will feel a sensation (in my opinion) similar to the one you feel when you get your first car or achieve 100% on an important exam. It is a feeling of satisfaction for accomplishing a goal you set for yourself.

I have platinumed several games, and below is a list with their description, difficulty to platinum, and genre:

  1. GTA San Andreas: Open-world game with missions, exploration, and character customization. Difficulty: 6/10. Genre: Action/Adventure Open-world.
  2. Bloodborne: Dark action RPG focused on fast-paced combat against monsters and bosses. Difficulty: 9/10. Genre: Action RPG/Soulslike.
  3. Elden Ring: Large open-world RPG with difficult combat and massive exploration. Difficulty: 10/10. Genre: Action RPG/Open-world.
  4. Resident Evil 4 (Remake): Survival horror with action, puzzles, and dangerous enemies. Difficulty: 8/10. Genre: Survival Horror/Action.
  5. Helldivers 2: Cooperative shooter with chaotic team strategies and intense missions. Difficulty: 7/10. Genre: Cooperative Shooter/Top-down.
  6. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare: First-person shooter with futuristic campaign, special abilities, and dynamic multiplayer. Difficulty: 6/10. Genre: FPS/Military Action.

And how can you benefit from a hobby like this?

Having a hobby like platining video games offers several benefits. First, it provides a sense of achievement and satisfaction, as reaching 100% completion in a game requires dedication, focus, and perseverance. It also helps improve problem-solving skills and strategic thinking, since many games involve planning, timing, and decision-making. Additionally, it can be a way to relax and reduce stress, offering a break from daily responsibilities while keeping the mind active. Playing with friends or in online communities can enhance social interaction and teamwork, making the experience more enjoyable and collaborative. Overall, having a hobby like this encourages patience, goal-setting, and personal growth, combining fun with skill development.

Weekly gaming news

This week, the development team "Arrowhead", the team behind the game "Helldivers 2", released a statement to players informing them about some balance and optimization changes that players had been requesting for a long time. The Helldivers 2 subreddit was also reopened after being under investigation related to the Charlie Kirk case... Our condolences go out to the Kirk family from here.
